Prior to joining the BMRL, I graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a doctoral degree in Medical/Clinical Psychology and completed my clinical internship at the James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital in Tampa, FL. My research interests broadly focus on identifying modifiable biopsychosocial variables which contribute to the development and maintenance of chronic pain in clinical populations. I am especially interested in identifying how these mechanisms contribute to gender and ethnic health disparities.
