I specialize in the management of patients with comorbid chronic pain and psychiatric disorders, with a focus on patients with connective tissue disorders.  I am an attending psychiatrist of the Johns Hopkins Pain Treatment Program and the Food-Mind-Body clinic as well as chief psychiatrist of the Johns Hopkins Perioperative Pain Program. My primary scientific area of research examines the underpinning relationship between neuropsychiatric symptoms, including sleep, and chronic pain conditions with a translational focus on the integration of psychiatric care into multidisciplinary pain management.
